WALK ON MARS

Walk On Mars (WOM) is a pop-punk project started by Mary Jo Swank. Terminating gender stereotypes and consistently representing neon green in the coolest way possible, WOM has reached over 40 million views on ‘Stacy’s Side,’ a parody of Fountains of Wayne’s song ‘Stacy’s Mom.’ Along the way, Mary Jo has shared the stage with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and Grammy-winning composer James Blachly, and performed annually at THON, Penn State University’s charity fundraiser supporting families impacted by childhood cancer.

After releasing Walk On Mars’ debut EP under Wol’flower Records in 2023 and moving to Nashville in May 2024, Mary Jo began pursuing her musical vision for the band as an independent artist. Her first independent EP, BE A MAN!, details her struggle against gender stereotypes and misogyny throughout her career as an artist. Produced by Roye Robley, its seven tracks take on everything from the Bud Light backlash to manipulative exes, long-distance love, and finally reclaiming her own voice. Walk On Mars is now heading into a new era with ‘Return of the Living Dead’ and ‘Braindead,’ out 10/30. Mary Jo’s mission is to write and perform relatable music that can inspire anyone to reach beyond the stars and walk on Mars.
